Casey began dancing at the age of 2 at Estelle’s Dance Studio in Crafton. When the studio closed she took classes at Ritters Dance Shoppe. In 1994 she auditioned and was accepted into Rogers Middle School for the Creative and Performing Arts as a dance major. Casey along with her sister Brittany started dancing at the Joy School in 1996.
During high school Casey was the student director and choreographer of four spring musicals, the captain of the flag corps, and choreographer for the flag corps, marching band, and drill team. After graduating from Langley HS in 2001, Casey continued dancing as a member of the Duquesne University Danceline. She was also the director of campus activities for her sorority, Alpha Phi, and choreographer of four of the competition performances.
In addition to teaching the Advanced 1A, 1B, all of the Advanced Hip-Hop classes, and Fast Forward, Casey also works at Tapis Rouge Events as a corporate event planner.

" I don't want people who want to dance, I want people who HAVE to dance."-- George Balanchine |

My goal while living in New York City was to view every Broadway, Off-Broadway, and Dance Company show to build a repertoire to work from. My mission as a choreographer is to take the material given to me and create an original piece. I am gifted at bringing out the best in those that are hired for a show and developing raw material into a finished product. I enjoy working with historically rich forms like traditional musicals, but I especially love being a part of original shows- they often require more fusion in the choreography and allow me to create something new and fresh that contributes to the growth of contemporary dance forms.
I believe a strong background in tap history is fundamental to creating original tap shows. I was honored to assist Henry LeTang at Broadway Dance Center and perform and train with masters Jimmy Slyde, Buster Brown, and Gregory Hines. My tap works are deeply rooted in what I learned from these masters, giving me steps but also teaching me how to be genuinely authentic, and a real artist where my work comes directly from my heart.
The desire to teach brought me back to Pittsburgh after ten years in New York City. I come back to my home town as a stronger and wiser woman. I have faced some difficult challenges and I have learned some tough "life lessons." I have conveyed my story in the hope that it will help you to understand something about me and how the very path that brought me to teaching is the path that will guide me as a teacher.
